FYI Runway
22 - 4 has been reopened as well as all the taxiways. The North side
hangar door is off and being replace with a larger door, so be aware of
the construction.

Ottumwa Flying Service was proud to host President
Barrak Obama & Marine Helicopter Squadron One during his Ottumwa town hall
meeting at the Indian Hills campus. Photos of the Presidential helicopter

The airport's long overdue renovations are almost over. The electrical
work will soon be done if the rain will ever stop. All of the T-hangars had the doors and roofs repaired The maintenance hangar, FBO/terminal
building and T-hangar have a fresh coat of paint and look as
good as new!
Runway
4-22 are still closed while the lighting/electrical work is in progress.
The airport is still having the dedication for the newly resurfaced
runway on the 24 of November. The actual reopening date for the runway
has not been set, check NOTAMs or call airport manager Tom Francis at
641-683-0619.

Ottumwa Flying Service is starting specials on weekend rentals! Cessna
172 Skyhawk & Cessna 182RG Skylane are all $10 off the hourly rate!
A minimum of 1 hour of hobbs time dose apply. Now's the time to take
your folks or special someone on a ride around the block!

There will be a group of C172 taking high-resolution aerial photographs
in the area. O. F. S. welcomes them and thanks them for choosing Ottumwa
to base their operations from for the next week or so.

Ottumwa Flying Service would like to welcome its new pilot, flight instructor
and line serviceman Chad Gooden. Ottumwa is Chad's hometown and we
welcome him back from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chad is an alumni of Indian Hills
Community College and the University of Dubuque. A Gold Seal flight instructor
with 1,200 hours of duel instruction given, Chad is a professional aviator
that loves to teach.
